Diogenes: Pissing on Cynicism

So who was Diogenes the Dog, the father of ancient cynicism?

In the discussion of cynicism, it’s hard not to repeatedly drift into discussions of the fascinating man who founded it as a school of philosophy, so with that, we kind of went the other way and used this show to take a look at the man himself before really delving into the school of thought. Of course, since part of Ancient Cynicism, as well as Diogenes own values, is not thinking about your philosophy in the ivory tower but living it in your daily life, this may actually be the best way to discuss the things he held to be important since it allows us to speak of his philosophies almost as though we’re walking through a day in his life.
