How does philosophy change as we age?
As we develop over time, there are definitely different stages that we pass through within our own lifetimes. In those stages, different philosophical schools of thought prove to provide a prevailing theme. However, with that predictability some hold that it can seem that we are simply living predestined lives that are virtually indistinguishable in structure from that of our parents, grandparents, and so on. In this episode, we take a look at the work of Erik Erikson’s as it relates to life stages. From there, we zoom out to the societal scale and explore how this relates to the heroism and villainy we assign to previous generations and take a look at whether or not any one of us would behave differently if dropped into those same situations.
