Neutering Neoliberalism

Is this a trend emerging alongside the alt-right, or is it dying alongside the Clinton legacy?

So there was a time not too long ago when it wasn’t okay to call yourself a progressive or a socialist, at which point the term neoliberal seemed to emerge. However, it never really seemed to take hold, or at least not until recently. More and more often, this word is being bandied about as if it’s some sort of universal political insult as though it has come to replace communism. Oddly, this insult seems not to be some sort of demonization of a pre-existing political philosophy, but rather a political philosophy¬†intended to encompass¬†an amalgamation of actions that have already been done. With that, the Six Pack Team attempts to deconstruct the new use of the term neoliberalism so we can all better understand when people bat it around like a badminton birdie.
