Substance dualism and the mind-body problem.
For centuries, philosophers have subscribed to a theory that the universe consists of two types of substances: physical and mental. It has been believed that, though the body and mind appear to be connected, they aren’t one and the same. Considering much of how our society is constructed right now, that seems fairly intuitive, but recent developments have led some philosophers to challenge substasubstantial dualism when attempting to answer the mind-body problem.
Funnily enough, it seems no one ends up where they thought they would on the topic, and Ana doesn’t find a way to relate it to vegan ism. However we can always count on Mike to find it’s relation to the allegory of the cave, and John to link it to free will.
