Caucuses, Primaries, and Conventions: What best represents the voice of the people?

If you’ve been living under a rock for the last 8 months, you should be warned, campaign season upon us. The SPP decided it was time to take a good hard look at the processes we use within the United States to select our candidates for public office. With many misconceptions regarding the caucus, primary, and convention processes, we start out by discussing exactly what happens at each level and some reasoning for why each method is used. We then delve into the ideas of what sort of process might be able to be utilized to better produce the goal of representing the voice of the people. Of course, maybe that isn’t the goal of the process at all. Tune in to hear the arguments, and hopefully learn a little more about our political process.
